Specialist prosthodontists are rare, and Nick is one of a small number registered to practise in the UK. He completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery, then chose to spend several additional years in postgraduate specialist training at the Eastman Dental Hospital in London, the country’s most respected dental institution. A single dental implant in the UK typically costs between £2,000 and £3,500 once you include the implant, abutment and final crown. Multi-tooth solutions and All-on-4 full-arch treatments are priced individually depending on the case. We provide every patient with a fixed written quote before treatment begins, and finance is available.
How long do dental implants last?

Modern dental implants are designed to be a permanent solution. Studies routinely report success rates of more than ninety-five per cent at ten years, and many implants placed twenty or thirty years ago are still functioning well today. The crown on top of the implant may eventually need replacing, in the same way a natural tooth can need a new crown over a lifetime.
Are dental implants painful?

The procedure itself is carried out under local anaesthetic, so you should feel pressure but no pain during placement. Most patients describe the recovery as more comfortable than a routine tooth extraction. Sedation is available for patients who prefer to feel relaxed throughout, and we will talk you through every step.
What is the difference between dental implants and dentures?

Dentures rest on the gums and are removable. Dental implants are fixed permanently into the jaw bone and function like natural teeth. Many patients move from traditional dentures to implant-retained dentures, where two or more implants hold the denture firmly in place, allowing them to eat, speak and smile with full confidence.
What is All-on-4?

All-on-4 is a technique that uses just four carefully placed implants to support a complete upper or lower arch of fixed teeth. It is often the right answer for patients who have lost most or all of their teeth, or whose dentures are no longer comfortable. The result is a fixed set of teeth that look, feel and function like the real thing. The whole procedure is carried out on one appointment meaning that your smile and functionality is restored in one session.
Can I have dental implants if I have been told my bone is not strong enough?

Often, yes. Modern bone grafting techniques, including the guided bone regeneration techniques Nick uses in-house, make it possible to place implants in cases that would have been considered impossible only a few years ago. We will assess this honestly at your consultation.
